BLACK LIVES MATTER
How can we be in the 21st century and continue to blind ourselves of the facts that not all people are treated equally?
This photo authentically shows a Canadian riot. As demonstrated in the photo, the people are peacefully protesting unlike the negative depictions within the media. As well, this photo shows a wide range of races marching, illustrating that Black Lives Matter is not just a campaign for black individuals but rather equality for all. The black and white pigmentation of this photo exists to serve two purposes, the first being that it makes viewers connect the quality of the photo to that of photos from the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. The black and white colouring also parallels the true issue at hand, the comparison between those who are black, and those who are white.
